Pelvic Fracture Surgery
Due to the complex anatomical structure and proximity to major blood vessels and nerves, pelvic fractures are highly risky in orthopedics.
Traditional open surgeries involve significant trauma and slow recovery, while the rise of minimally invasive techniques places higher demands on intraoperative imaging.
A large field of view, high clarity, and low radiation dose have become core requirements.
At Dechang County People’s Hospital in Sichuan Province, the integrated with large FPD from Perlove Medical, combined with 3D printing technology, was successfully used to perform a complex minimally invasive pelvic surgery for a patient injured in a high fall.
Empowering Complex Minimally Invasive Pelvic Surgery
Patient: Male, 54 years old
Hospital: Dechang County People’s Hospital, Sichuan Province
The patient suffered multiple severe injuries from a high fall, including lumbar fractures, kidney contusion, traumatic splenic rupture, traumatic pneumothorax, and multiple rib fractures. The greatest challenge in surgery was the comprehensive management of multiple injuries and the complexity of the pelvic fracture itself. Pelvic fracture reduction and fixation were highly demanding, requiring exceptional surgical skills and experience.

Imaging-Guided Precise Planning
After completing a thorough preoperative assessment, the surgical team decided to perform a minimally invasive pelvic reconstruction. The patient’s poor physical condition and low tolerance made minimally invasive surgery preferable due to its reduced trauma and less physiological disruption, making it easier for the patient to tolerate.
Meanwhile, combining 3D pelvic reconstruction with high-definition intraoperative imaging allowed the team to better plan the surgical approach, enhance precision, reduce the risk of postoperative complications, and support early rehabilitation—ultimately improving the patient’s quality of life.

During surgery, a 3D model of the pelvis was reconstructed from the patient’s CT data, enabling intuitive assessment of fracture patterns and reduction pathways. The Perlove Medical large integrated with large FPD could cover the entire pelvic lesion in a single exposure. Combined with the 3D model, it helped determine the screw model and insertion angle, ensuring a seamless connection between preoperative planning and intraoperative execution.
Minimally invasive percutaneous puncture techniques were used to insert guides through preplanned safe paths. fluoroscopy confirmed anatomical alignment of the fracture. All three screws were successfully inserted on the first attempt, with no cortical breach or neurovascular injury. Postoperative fluoroscopy from multiple angles showed stable screw positioning and full restoration of the pelvic ring, with minimal intraoperative bleeding—achieving precise, minimally invasive repair of a complex pelvic fracture.

Intelligent Imaging, Beyond Precision
Integrated Design: Lightweight frame (footprint only 1㎡), ideal for compact surgical spaces, improving intraoperative maneuverability.

Wide Field of View: The 30cm × 30cm FOV of Perlove’s large integrated with large FPD captures both sacroiliac joints and acetabular regions in a single exposure, reducing fluoroscopy frequency and overall radiation dose.

Medical Touchscreen: Smooth operation with a surgical glove-friendly medical touchscreen, enhancing convenience and fluid human-machine interaction.

The Perlove Medical integrated with large FPD has been widely adopted in departments such as spine surgery, trauma orthopedics, and urology, demonstrating its advantages in the integrated design, large FOV, and intelligent dose control in various procedures. Choosing Perlove’s intelligent solutions is not just about selecting a medical device but it is also about embracing a patient-centered, precision medical solution.
