Perlove Medical Full-Field DR: Professional Detection for Adolescent and Pediatric Scoliosis
Perlove Medical’s full-field DR is specifically designed for detecting scoliosis in adolescents and children. Full-field DR is currently the preferred imaging method for evaluating scoliosis. It provides high-quality X-rays of the entire spine, including the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacral vertebrae, and pelvis, clearly displaying the bony structures of the entire spine. This allows for a comprehensive assessment of the spinal curvature, which is crucial for the diagnosis, evaluation, and correction of scoliosis, and is essential for accurate disease assessment.

X-rays of only a partial spine provide limited imaging information, making it difficult for doctors to make precise evaluations. With Perlove Medical’s full-field DR, a single exposure can capture the entire spine.
Typically, scoliosis requires two X-ray images: one anteroposterior (AP) view and one lateral view of the full spine.
- Full-Length Anteroposterior View: Uses the Cobb method to measure the lateral curvature of the spine on the standing AP view. An angle greater than 10° indicates scoliosis, with the angle size indicating the severity.
- Full-Length Lateral View: Assesses the degree of flatback or kyphosis caused by the curvature.

Scoliosis is a common spinal deformity among adolescents and children. If not detected and treated early, worsening curvature can lead to chest deformities and abnormal posture, such as uneven shoulders, abnormal back protrusions, and body tilt. Severe thoracic scoliosis can cause asymmetry, collapse, or even twisting of the chest, limiting heart and lung development and causing irreversible heart and lung abnormalities. It can also affect gastrointestinal function.
“Early detection, early prevention, early treatment” has become an expert consensus in the prevention and control of scoliosis in children and adolescents. Once scoliosis is detected in a child, parents should promptly take them to a specialized medical institution for examination and spinal rehabilitation.
Perlove Medical’s full-field DR is a leading medical imaging device. Compared to traditional DR machines, the full-field DR can complete a full-spine X-ray for an adult with a single exposure, eliminating the need for image stitching and effectively reducing radiation dosage. It provides a true wide-field imaging solution with high-definition image quality and precise, distortion-free imaging.
